02:29 pm So it's been over a year since I last posted on here. I may post some in the future, but for right now I think I post more often and just as sporadically at my music blog I created last fall

12:36 am - Ron Paul Some of you will get a kick out of this. A lot are the same as Chuck Norris jokes, but still funny.
1. Ron Paul doesn't go the gym. He stays fit by exercising his civil rights.
2. Ron Paul delivers babies without his hands. He simply reads them the Bill of Rights and they crawl out in anticipation of freedom.
3.Jesus wears a wrist band that says "What Would Ron Paul Do?"
4. Ron Paul doesn't pee. He liberates urine.
5. Ron Paul gets high on freedom.
8. When Chuck Norris gets scared, he goes to Ron Paul.
9. I just saved a bunch of money by switching to Ron Paul.
10. Ron Paul has no alarm clock, but instead wakes every morning to the call of freedom.
11. Ron Paul doesn't cut taxes. He kills them with his bare hands.
12. Ron Paul's tears can shrink government spending. Too bad he never cries.
13. Ron Paul doesn't write books. The words assemble out of fear.
14. Waldo cannot hide from Ron Paul.
15. Ron Paul let the dogs out. They were being held unconstitutionally.
16. Ron Paul can believe its not butter.
17. When fascism goes to sleep at night, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul.
18. Gold is backed by Ron Paul.
19. A Klondike bar would do anything for a Ron Paul.
20. The sun will go blind if it stares at Ron Paul.
21. Ron Paul is so in favor of the First Amendment, he runs attack ads against himself.
22. Ron Paul is Darth Vader's father.
23. If Ron Paul had lived in Sparta, the movie would have been called "1″

07:57 am 1. I heart football. Sept/Oct are the glory months for sports. End of baseball season and start of NFL/college football. 2. It's nice to see Jason David still really sucks while wearing another uniform.

09:33 am - I'm scared I promise to make a more substantial post at some point later, but I am doing research for a box I need to build right now. While doing a parts search I was led to a datasheet stored on Herniter's Rose-Hulman webpage. Out of principle I think I should not use this part now.

10:44 pm - Drunk dials I miss drunk dials. Being old and knowing only old people generally prevents drunk dials during the week, but when they happen they are hilarious. In that spirit, Saturday night I vow to drunk dial while at Hairbanger's Ball.

09:40 am - Weekend Plans This weekend I will be in Indy. I have a dentist's appointment in greenwood friday morning so there is no way I can be sucked into working this Friday. So my plans are: Thursday night: Drive to Indy. Attend dinner at Beer Sellar if anyone is going out there. Friday: Dentist appointment. Other random Friday day activities. Friday night: Dinner then some bar action downtown. Saturday: Geni & Tracy's cookout/party. Anyone in the Indy area who I haven't seen in a while (which is pretty much everyone right now) give me a call at some point this weekend.
In addition, Greg Maddux is an absolute stud. I don't know how the Cubs are winning without Lee, but they are so that's cool. Now if they'd only show more games on tv. Current Mood: awake Current Music: Silence

05:04 pm - Monthly update It seems I've become very bad at updating this thing. I guess that's what happens when you spend 9 hours a day doing real work as opposed to 8 hours sitting around reading LJ all day. Not that I'm complaining. It feels great to actually have my mind stimulated again and feel like I'm doing something useful. I enjoy being around my co-workers and they are actually social and fun to just talk to as well. The decision to change jobs was 100% percent correct.
When I was growing up I used to enjoy winter. This year I was sick of it by January. This past week has been nice. Hopefully we have some spring this year and don't go straight into summer. My goal is to play golf at least once a week, even if only 9 holes. I shot a 54 on nine holes at Cascades last week, so I'm off to a relatively good start for the year.
Last night we watched Chronicles of Narnia (great movie). Tonight as soon as Mel gets off work, we're heading down to my parents/aunts house for Easter weekend activities. I need some bid euchre action.
And I'm done for now Current Mood: creative Current Music: Ohio - Neil Young

06:38 pm - Update I'm not dead. In fact, very alive. It's amazing how much less time you have to post when you don't spend 8 hours a day sitting on your ass doing nothing. New job is going great, and I'm getting back into my workaholic mode and gotten rid of most of my bad working habits already since I have a real job with cool people again. More intense update at a later time. I'll probably see most of you in Terre Haute this weekend. Current Mood: happy Current Music: Get Drunk and Be Somebody - Toby Keith

12:03 pm - Job stuff To paraphrase a phone conversation I just had [11 am. Phone rings] Jed: Hello Nathan: Hey we have a job opening up. Kelly will get you an offer next week or so then you can put in your two weeks. I'll probably be your boss. Jed: Awesome!
So it looks like I'll be a government employee in a month. I'm not really too concerned about pay. I know the general benefits package I'll get and, I figure even if pay is at the low end, 50k is plenty for me right now. I'd rather be happy at work. 06:00 pm - New Year's Eve I feel the need to get very sloshed on New Year's and be around friends. However, I really don't like bars too much on new year's. How does a game/cards night involving booze somewhere sound to anybody who doesn't have new year's plans already?

10:40 am - I love lamp Weekend update (As much for keeping me sane and organized as for my readers)
Thursday & Friday Dependant on weather The plan right now is to take tomorrow off work, so I can go to Indy tonight and also clean my apartment, do some xmas shopping, etc. tomorrow. Heavy snow later may prevent this if I don't feel like driving in it. If I stay here tonight I'll probably work a half day tomorrow.
Friday night A friend has a leftover keg from a party last weekend. We must drink it. Danielle issued a challenge last night that we couldn't finish it all. Must...prove...her...wrong. Then at 10 off to Hairbanger's Ball. Anybody is welcome to partake in drinking and umm..80's music-ing and crash at my place if need be. Austin, Zeb, Ryan and Darin are at least coming for sure right now.
Saturday Wake up (possibly in the pm hours), drive home for mom's birthday dinner at The Patio. Eat good food and play cards all night.
Sunday Go to church, watch Colts game with dad, then drive back to Bloomington to prepare for the last full work week of the year (thank god)
