Big update
I have been very busy lately and neglecting lj completely as well as not being able to talk to my friends much, so I'll try and hit all the big changes in this entry.

I've been at my new job for six months so far and it is going great. I actually have stuff to do and a clear leadership. It's a complete 180 from my first job. At the end of July I got promoted to Production/Technical Lead on our project, which means I manage the finances and scheduling and all that good stuff. It keeps me very busy, but I enjoy doing it. I'm getting ready to fly out to San Diego tomorrow until Wednesday to do some testing. I love work travel, cause it doesn't cost a dime to visit San Diego for 3 days!

I got a dog at the end of June. Chocolate Lab who weighs about 85 pounds. His list of favorite things to do includes play fetch, chew everything he can find, and whine when you don't pay attention to him at all times. His dislikes include thunderstorms and the dark brown sphere pieces of his dog food.

Finally the biggest thing. I just signed an offer for a house. I close on Sept 8 and I'll probably move in 1st of October. Melodie will move in when her lease expires in May. I got a great deal on a good 2067 sq ft starter home on .345 acres. It's very nice for the price I got. I'm excited. I didn't dislike living at Brad's, but it's not layed out the way I like and buying a house makes all sorts of sense. The goal was to get something I can afford myself so when Melodie moves in any income she provides is bonus to do more cool stuff.

All right, that's all the major stuff for now. Maybe I'll update again in another 3 months.

Big congradulations on buying the house! If it is on a well make sure you get the water tested - I learned that the hard way recently. :) Good luck! I'm sure you'll love it!

oh, and that .345 acres may seem like a good idea now but just wait till you have to mow it every week. or not mow it every week and get a letter from your city threatening fine if you don't get on it.

Bah, mowing is one of the best parts of owning a house! Well, that and not paying rent.

You know, man-law states that you can only ask your buddies to help you move a maximum of once per year.

Congrats though.

if there is a request issued my way, i expect compensation in the form of beer and strippers.

well, not strippers but definetely beer.

and hamburgers.

and remember, this equition applies:

(Q1 * B1) + (Q2 * B2) = 1/(N*D)

where Q1 + Q2 is propotional to N
Q1, Q2 = quality factors
B1, B2 = beer, burgers (respectively)
N = some number
D = dopped furniture

you know, i just reread that equation and it doesn't make a lick of sence.

as Q1 + Q2 => infinity, 1/(N + D) => zero. so, D would have to be something like 1/2N to satisfy the equation which doesn't get the point i was trying to make.

god i suck at math.

point still stands, if you want my help moving, i want beer and burgers and if it's shitty beer and burgers, expect union style moving help.

Union moving isn't bad, imo, it's just that it will take one guy for each corner of the couch, one for each cushion, and a few to supervise.
